*Let’s talk common sense about Negative SEO.*
I’ve read all the comments elsewhere but nobody has pointed out how easy
this problem would be to fix for the good of all mankind.
Google is doing two things wrong here.
The first and most fundamental thing they should address is their
acceptance of collateral damage no matter how infinitesimally small their
percentage allowance is. This is the most critical because it doesn’t just
apply to Negative SEO. It’s wrong to imagine that the average bloke
innocently doing the right thing might be penalised without warning or
right of redress. It’s wrong.
The quick-fix that would eliminate the scourge of negative SEO overnight
would be to remove the upper-limit thresholds that apply to links.
Matt Cutts is wrong to say that Mum’s and Dad’s sites have nothing to fear.
My first task as soon as I clear my desk is to create the disavow list for
http://www.anglerswarehouse.com.au. Anyone is welcome to check this site’s
backlinks and disagree with me. I would appreciate the second opinion. Image may be NSFW.
